Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty gave music and lyrics to the iconic musical Anastasia premiered pre-Broadway on 13th May 2016 at the Hartford Stage in Hartford, Connecticut. It was directed by Darko Tresnjak and choreographed by Peggy Hickey. After almost one year, in 2017, Anastasia was premiered on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre and later produced several shows worldwide with different productions. At that time, the musical received mixed reviews from critics.
